March 18, 2011 This morning Rob and I had to be at the hospital at 4:30 am to get me ready for my c section. You weighed 7 lbs even and 19 & 1/2 inches long born at 6:58 a.m. You were a beautiful baby girl. We are so excited to have you join our family.

Feb. 14, 2011 This morning I made the kids heart and I love You pancakes! These are the flowers Rob and kids bought me for Valentines Day! I have been doing a week of love to Rob. Each day I did something to show him I loved him! Such as heart attacked his bed, cleaned car, polished his shoes, ironed all his shirts, left him notes all over house, left him his favorite treats, etc.

Tonight we have some fun traditions with our kids. We read the Christmas story as a family, then we review our goals and what we wanted to do for Jesus the year before and make new ones, we open one present (always pj's), put out our reindeer food outside on the snow, write our letter to Santa and put out cookies, and then we let the kids have a sleepover together! It's always a fun filled night full of great excitement!

December 2010

Every year we take the kids up to Ogden to see the lights and all the Christmas houses. The kids have such a great time. We go to dinner first, then visit Santa, and walk around and see all the houses and lights. Below are some of the pictures of us while there.

Each year on the Sunday before Christmas. We go up to Robs parents and get together with all of his family for Christmas. We have dinner, each family does something (we sang etc), play music, exchange presents, and play! It's a nice way to see everyone and celebrate Christmas and make Christmas day more open to do what you as a family want to do together. It was really fun and the kids love it.

Our family performed up on the house top (all 3 verses) Mom, Katie and Megan sang and did the actions, Justin played the piano, Ryan danced, and Rob played the guitar! Great job kids!

Tonight while rob painted my bathroom( my Christmas present was he would paint for me, yippee) and since I can't be around the paint fumes anyway I took all the kids to my family party. They had a good time. We ate, sang, talked, and danced around!

Today we had our neighbors over Kol and Kaleb and one of Justin's friends chase to make gingerbread houses with us. The kids look forward to this every year. Mostly to eat the candy but we had fun too!

Today was the girls dance recital they have had so much fun doing dance together this year. They danced to Roley poly the polar bear this year and they looked so great. Megan could hardly wait...she kept asking me "mommy, when do I get to go up on the stage"? They both did a great job and they were so cute. They are in a ballet/tap class and look so forward to it every week!

Today was the preschool kids Christmas program. We did it at my house and they all had so much fun.

Tonight I took the kids to go and see the live nativity in my brother and sister in laws stake. I had heard how amazing it is but never been. Rob had to work late but it wasn't a super cold night so off we went. I went with Rochelle and her family so my kids thought that was really fun. Below are some of the pictures. This was such an amazing way to start off our Christmas holiday. It really brought the true meaning of Christmas into our home and helped the kids get a live interpretation of a miraculous event. I think it's a tradition we will definitely continue.

Katie was chosen this year as the visual Arts winner in her school for reflections in her age group. Here are some pics of her with the trophy she got and her project at the assembly they had with the entire school! She worked really hard on this and really deserved it. We were so proud of her. I love this age and I would love it if he stayed this age forever (except for not being potty trained he is near perfect to me)! He does everything I say, rarely has tantrums, learning to talk, still loves to be cuddled and loved, just look at him what can I say he's adorable!

This is our tie breaker so it really didn't matter to us. This morning before we left Megan said mom I think it's a boy or a girl. Glad we have done something right, only 2 options. Katie wanted girl but thought it was a boy, Justin said he would like a boy but would be fine if girl too. Ryan really has no idea what's going on, except that he isn't fitting on moms lap quite like he used to. So the results are in and...I know the waiting is killing some of you....so it's a Girl! We are all so excited and couldn't be happier, she looks perfect and apparently we needed some more emotions and estrogen in the house! Can't wait till March for this little one to come join us! She is a very active baby in there never stopped moving!

So this week the kids have been dressing up and doing silly things at school! This day was beach day so I dressed Ryan up in his Hawaiian shirt too. Ryan is so cute he now says CHEESE.... while taking his photo. I love it. He also loves Diego and will sing go go diego. He even finds the tv remote and brings it to me saying go go.

Today was my Birthday! I had a good one, I guess when you get older it's all just another day!

When I got the baby out of the crib this morning he had on this hat and this microphone in his hand. He was singing, it was so cute! Then I came into the kitchen to a breakfast made for me by Justin and Katie. It was bananas with melted chocolate to dip them in, Kool Aide, and an egg they made me. Not bad!

Off to the pumpkin patch! I took the kids to get their pumpkins at a local farm near us! There was a lady there who does advertising for this farm and asked if she could take photos of my kids (since they are so gosh darn cute)! We had fun picking out pumpkins, playing on tractors, and of course the corn maze!

So on the 4th Rob and I had our 10th wedding anniversary. We have sure come a long ways in 10 years and I don't know if there is much that we would change. I am so lucky and blessed to have such a great person in my life. He is so hard working for our family! He rarely stops and puts 100% into everything he starts. Thanks for putting up with me! I love you so much and am so excited for all the great adventures to come in our lives ahead.

-4 wonderful kids and one on the way

-bought 1st house and moved to current home

-Rob and I graduated from the UofU

-Rob completed his Masters degree

-Rob got his CPA

-Rob changed jobs 3 times

-Disneyland numerous times

-Lot's of fun family vacations

-finishing basement

-buying and selling several cars (upgrading as the family grows)

-Lot's of laughs and smiles

-camping and backpacking

-putting in a yard (first house, that's a challenge)

-numerous church callings

These are just some of our fun times we have had in the past 10 years obviously I can't list all of them. We look forward to so many more great times!

So today was quite an adventure. We bought a new play set on Wed. and today Rob and his brother are trying to put it together. His dad and mom came over and helped too. When his mom came she also brought some dresses she had gotten for the girls today and couldn't wait to give them to them. She is so great, she is always spoiling the kids and we all don't mind!

Justin's last day at soccer. He was sad to be done he really loves to play. His coach recommended we place him on a more challenging league, he needs more and would do better in USA soccer he said. Especially as a goalie. Justin took that as a great compliment since his coach is really good and knows what he's talking about.

Today was Justin's special day...His baptism. He has prepared and waited for this for so long. He was so excited. We were so proud of him. Justin is such a sweet, happy, helpful, fun little boy. We are so happy to have him in our family and I know that he did the right thing by being baptized. More importantly he knows he did the right thing! Justin got a journal today from the primary and he was so excited to write in it all about his experience and the warm feeling he had. Rob did a great job baptising and confirming him and Justin felt the spirit so strong he said, I love that he recognized that and was so happy about it.

We started in the chapel where there was a talk on baptism and the holy ghost. Then they dismissed us 1 at a time. Justin was first. We went in to where the font was and Rob baptized him. Then we went into the young women's room. While waiting for them to change we wrote letters or testimonies to Justin. Then when they came in the 1st counselor had Justin come up and spoke for a minute. Then they had everyone come up who had been invited to confirm Justin. It was a beautiful prayer. (Justin said he fealt really warm and good inside). Then he had Rob and I both share our testimonies. Then Rochelle our primary president was able to share her testimony with him and gave him the journal. After we had some closing remarks and a closing prayer by Katie. It was really nice we talked for a minute then we went over to our house for lunch.

We are so proud of Justin he is so excited for his baptism in a few days. About a year ago Justin received a book of Mormon. He told his dad and I that he wanted to read it before his baptism. We decided that we would read the whole thing together as a family before his baptism. He was so great at making sure this goal was reached. He would wake us up with scriptures in hand, or we would wake up and he would be sitting on the couch with his scriptures waiting to read. He was such a great reminder. Not to mention his reading improved so much throughout the year too as he read. Needless to say here is Justin on the Thursday before his baptism reading Moroni chapter 9. We decided to read chapter 10 the next night so his dad could be there. We met our goal and all the kids followed the promise and prayed about the book of Mormon. Justin said he felt so good about it and knew he was making the right decision by being baptized. We also had the senior missionaries come and teach Justin 6 lessons before his baptism to help prepare him. They came every Monday night and we discussed so many great topics. Justin knew so much and we were so proud of him. I guess our weekly FHE's have sunk in some. He had his baptism interview Sept. 28th with the bishop and he is so excited for his big day!

Every 6 months at conference time while the men all go to priesthood. Grandma, the moms and the kiddos all go to dinner then usually get together after to play until the men come back. Then they eat dinner and we hang out. The kids really look forward to it.

Today for fun I took the kids down to sugar house park and to have lunch with dad (he works in the blue offices in the background so he is really close to the park). I went and got pizza and sandwiches for all of us. Rob met us and after feeding the geese and ducks we found a pavilion and ate lunch. Then the kids built boats from sticks and leaves etc and floated them in the water. It was fun!

Sept. 22-26, 2010

Well on Oct 4 Rob and I will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary. So to celebrate we wanted to do something fun but not too far away. So Nicole's mom was so sweet and willing to come and stay with the kids while Rob and I for the first time since we have had Justin gone out to celebrate overnight just the 2 of us. It was a much needed and wonderful experience we both enjoyed so much! Below are some pictures of the amazing 4 and 1/2 days we spent together!

For our 1st night we went downtown to the anniversary inn. We stayed in their nicest room and it was so beautiful. This is a picture of the breakfast they brought us. YUM! We had a great time not worrying about kids, and slept in even, something we never do, it felt great!

From downtown we walked around temple square, went on a tour of the lion house, and ate lunch there. Then we did some shopping at the gateway and the mall and drove up to Snowbird, where we were staying the following night. We checked in then walked around some it was so fun to be together and talk about so many things and reminisce about so many good times we have had together. Then we went to dinner at the lodge bistro and had a quiet evening just the 2 of us. Here is Rob on our walk near the lodge.

This is the view off our balcony it was so beautiful. We ate our breakfast out here and just sat and read. It was peaceful and beautiful. The pool was just below us some and though we didn't swim it was fun to just be together.

After we checked out we took a tram ride up the mountainside. This was really cool to look over the entire valley and see so many things for miles!

We started one hike but decided to hike down the mountain instead of taking the tram back down. Hoping for a nice quiet serene hike. Unfortunately we chose poorly. It was a steep, straight down hike the entire way!! If we had only known we would have chosen otherwise. We both love to hike but this was just steep loose rocks and we had to constantly be aware of your footing or you would slide and fall. Not the nice peaceful hike down the mountain to enjoy the beauties. Well now we know and we will never do that again! When we got back we headed up to park city. We decided to so some shopping at the outlets. Rob bought we a beautiful leather jacket for my birthday and we got him some new work clothes. It was fun to shop just the 2 of us and not worry about losing little ones, or kids touching things etc. Those days are so hard to remember. I think this was one of the first times in a long time we enjoyed shopping together! Then we went to the blue iguana for dinner in park city. It was good but not as good as the one down town. Then we headed up to my parents cabin where we would spend the next two days and nights.

While at the cabin we enjoyed the beautiful wildlife. Rob and I could here these moose from the cabin talking to each other. We walked to the top of the driveway and there they were a bull and cow looking at us, but didn't seem to care. I think we watched them for over an hour! It was so cool.

Rob reading and enjoying the peace and QUIET! We went to the diner for dinner down the road! Kind of a fun little place. Sunday we cleaned up and left after lunch and got home around dinner. My parents were at the house and the kids were so happy to see us. It was such a nice relaxing time together. We realized it was something we would need to do more often. The sleeping in, eating out, shopping, relaxing, and worrying about no one but yourself was so nice for a change. We love the kids but it was a great vacation. Thanks mom for allowing us such a great time, feel free to take the kids anytime! Thanks Rob for ten special and amazing years together. It was so fun to rekindle and fall in love all over again these few days! I hope we can have so many more memories and experiences together!

Justin is so in love with this game. We would love to let him try new things but he always says no I want to do soccer again. He is getting so great too. Not to brag! Justin loves to play goalie and isn't afraid to get down by the ball with all those kids kicking at his face, he reaches in and just picks it up! I can't believe his no fear attitude. We are so proud of him and glad he loves to play so much. Even when he plays forward or other positions he still scores goals and plays so well even though he loves goalie best. Good job kiddo you are our champ! Keep up the great work!

Today Justin turned 8! He was so excited and mom couldn't believe he was that old. I swear I'm going to turn around and he will be leaving on his mission next. Hopefully it won't be that fast. Anyway here he is on his special day. We are so proud of you Justin and we are so happy to have you in our family! We love you so much!

The Herriman Fire!

Sept. 19-20, 2010

This was a crazy couple of days for everyone in Herriman. The fire started off not seeming too bad from where we stood other than the horrible flames and black sky. But as the fire came over the mountain and just spread so quickly that is when I think everyone realized how scary and dangerously fast that fire actually was spreading. Although we weren't evacuated we packed up the kids finally due to the horrible smoke and headed to Rob's parents for the evening, praying for all the families that were in harms way. We were so grateful to all the fireman and volunteers who did so much and saved so many homes. It was unfortunate for those that burned but literally hundreds of others that were in harms way were not burned and it was a miracle. Rob's parents made all of us shower and change even our extra clothes were so smoke smelling they couldn't stand to be around us, it was that bad! Rob stayed up at city hall and volunteered until 4 in the morning. Then he went home to our house to sleep. The next day school was cancelled but we went back home. There was black soot and ash everywhere. It took days and weeks before our house didn't reek of smoke anymore and after much spring cleaning things began to look clean again. Thanks to everyone for all they did for us! We were so appreciative to all of them! This was a good experience for us as well we realized very quickly we took too long to get out of the home and we wouldn't have had that kind of time if we were evacuated. We put things that were really important to us together and tried to create a better plan for the future. I pray nothing like that will ever happen again!

Justin was so excited to start scouts. Here he is on the first day he went they asked him to come 6 days before his birthday since they were passing off one of the required activities and wanted him to get it done. He was so thrilled to be there. He has been waiting for scouts for so long. I remember when I did scouts for just over 3 years when he was 2-5 and 1/2 and he would dress up like the boys and participate in everything they were doing. He probably passed off everything 3 times by the time I finished. So I know he was looking forward to this.

Today Ryan got his first much needed haircut. Rob kept telling me he looked like a girl and people were going to start to call him Ryina. And I did agree he was overdue, it's just so hard to cut that beautiful baby hair for the first time. It took some courage but I did it. Not fantastic he wiggles quite a lot, but I tried and I think he looked way handsome after it was all done! Truth is I probably should have cut more but I just didn't dare!

Today was Megan's first day of preschool! She was so excited and asked me almost daily if she got to go today. I kept telling her almost. She is so ready to go play with friends and have fun!

Below are some of the fun things we did in August with the kids.

Aug. 23, 2010 tonight we went to the Amphitheater and watched Guys and Dolls. Rob's sister was in the production. She did a really great job.

August 27-28, 2010

We took the kids up to the cabin for the night they had a great time. We watched movies, danced played games, went on a hike, and did some geocaching! We found 3 of the5 we were looking for. And we told the kids at the cabin that mom was having another baby. Justin was a little sad, but the others were really excited. He was sad come to find out because he thought he would lose his seat in the car? We cleared that up and then he was just fine! We explained mommy was due in March and they can't wait! The picture above is up by Smith and Morehouse looking for a geocache and going on a little hike around the reservoir.

So I came out with Megan and she had on the silliest outfit to ride her trike. In her swimming suit with her winter boots on! She is always wearing the silliest things.

Today for our ward primary party we had the local fireman come and tell the kids all about fire safety. They had one of them dress up for them and talk to them with his mask and tank on. They got a call so they had to leave early but they did a great job.

After we went and played some water games and then had pizza and water. Then the kids got into a huge water fight!

The fireman came back at the end and joined in on the water fight and sprayed the kids with water and let them go in the firetruck and finished talking to them all about the truck. Then we passed out Popsicles and it was time for the kids to go home. It turned out to be a lot of fun and the kids all had a really good time!

So today I found out we were having baby #5. I wanted to tell Rob in a silly but creative way. I took a sheet of sticky notes and stuck them all over our bathroom mirror with different things on them like... #5, boy? , girl?, c-section, Jan-March, pink, blue, daddy, firsts, etc etc you get the idea, then I left the pregnancy test showing positive on counter underneath them all. He walked in and saw them all and was so excited. He kinda had a good idea I was already.

Tonight I thought we would make something fun for FHE treat. I bought all the fruit and sugar cookie dough to have fruit pizza. The kids had such a great time helping me cut up and decorate our pizza. They especially liked eating it!

Brighton Reunion!

Today I went up to Brighton girls camp with my good counselor and friend tree. We were both counselors in 1997 there. They had a reunion. I was ditto! It was so fun to be up there again with so many of my close friends. And to remember such a great summer in my life!

Our family vacation this year was so much fun. We drove to visit Rob's sister and her family in TX, of course we stopped to see all kinds of things along the way. We also went through OK, KS, and CO. Below are our journey's and adventures we had along the way!

These are so amazing and so beautiful. It is just incredible to me that any person could even build such an amazing structure thousands of years ago too! It is a sight that I suggest everyone go see! Our kids were in awe the entire time they couldn't believe how they built these homes literally on cliffs! This is cliff palace and you can see why!

Today we all went to the space museum. Christy's husband is one of the engineers working on the space program mission to mars so we thought it would be fun to go and visit the museum. Justin jsut learned a little about space and has been so interested in black holes, rocketts, the moon etc. that we thought this would be a good learning experience for him and the other kids.

We went to dinner at the Kemah lighthouse district. We ate at a seafood restaurant. While waiting for Gary to come we let the kids drive these boats around in the water outside the restaurant. They thought this was so fun!

Christy has little toads that hop all over the yard. Here is Justin with one that he caught. They are more prevellent at night so finding this in the day was really cool! They are really small.

While in Tx on the way to Ok we drove up through Dallas and went to the stockyards where we watched one of their daily cattle drives. Here the cowboys drive all the cowboys down main street. The kids had a lot of fun watching the cowboys crack their whips and see the animals!

Jusin, Katie, Megan and Rob by reflection pool at Ok bombing site! This was horrific, but facinating. You could see pieces of the old building and for blocks away you could see the damage that was done to so many of the neighboring buildings. This was a peaceful place and our kids could sence the peace that was here.

The childrens exibit there are built in chalk boards in the ground where the kids can draw a picture and sign their names to all the kids involved in the bombing.

Justin made a heart and colored it and signed his name he really got into this!

Oz town sign, I must say unless you are headed this way, this was a complete tourist trap, not really that great. The kids liked it ok but it wasn't anything fantastic. But hey we were going this way anyway so why not!

This was what the kids had been waiting for! The Dalton Gang hideout. I found this place online and it looked so cool! A group of brothers came here after robbing banks, trains, etc. they would hideout in the home then take this underground tunnell they built to the stables where they would stowaway and getaway. It was the brothers sister and her husbands home and store.

Upstairs they have a museum of old guns, artifacts and things and this 2 headed stuffed calf is up there. It is really weird yet also interesting as well.

While in Dodge city we watched a reenactment of a wild west gun show. The kids loved watching the good and bad guys fight each other and shoot each other just like the old west. Even Rob and I were into it. It was really cool!

Dodge city, well known for some very famous gunfighters. Many country songs are written about this place too.

Today for fun I took the kids to Wheeler Farm! I invited my sister in law Cheri and her kids to come with us. It made it really fun!

Katie has been asking me for months if she could cut her hair. But I was always so hesitant because it takes so long to grow it out and I didn't want her to do it until after her dance performances. Well the time finally came and I agreed to let her do it. So we took her to my sister in laws and Stacey did her magic. I loved what she did, she looked so grown up and it really looked cute on her. She loved it too and the less snarls she got!

Visiting grandma and grandpa. Today after church we went up to my parents to visit. The kids had a lot of fun playing flip with grandpa and hanging out.

A visit to the Kennecott copper mine with cousins! They all had a great time!

The kids playing on the old copper mine equipment. I took the kids into the gift shop and Justin was so cute he wanted to buy something to share with the other boy cousins and new friend. He bought with his own money them each a piece of pyrite and shared with them. He was so proud!

Today we celebrated the 4th of July holiday. The kids had a great time. We did sparklers together. Some of them were a little shy at first but then they really enjoyed it. And we played with them see some of the fun pictures!

Today we went to our sweet friends Kelsie's baptism and blessing of her little brother Ty. Justin and Kelsie have been friends since we moved into this ward around age 1 and have played, preschool, field trips, and done so much together we were happy to support her on this special day.

Since school was over and it was the weekend we let Katie and Justin have a sleepover. They decided to gather all their friends to join them apparently. Then they slept on their bean bags with their pillows. So fun!

Today was Justin's class awards. His teacher was so great. She had the kids decide what awards the student got. Justin's was the fastest runner award. She also made a cute DVD movie of the kids for the year and some of the things they did that year that we all watched and then gave one to each child. After they ate Popsicles and talked.

Today was Justin's Awards assembly at school. We were so proud of him he earned the highest award he could earn and got a medal the "High Flying Hawk" award. He had to work really hard all year to earn this and he did it. Great job Justin we couldn't be prouder what a great student!

Today after Justin got home from school I looked out back and he and Katie and Megan were having a water fight and soaking wet. Mostly his sisters were wet but mom helped them get even. I had to join in can't miss a good water fight. We love summer, what a great time!

Rob's Grandpa's funeral

Rob's grandpa passed away on the 12th while we were in Park City with my friends. The next week was the viewing and funeral etc. Here are some of the pictures of the funeral services. Grandpa was such an amazing person that taught my family so much. They loved his candy drawer, fishing, excellent musician, great testimony, told great stories, blankets he gave all the kids when they were born, and was one of the most amazing people I have ever been blessed to know. We will miss you so much.

Because Grandpa was a veteran Rob suggested they have a military funeral. They did the gun salute and had the flag on his coffin. It was a really neat addition to the services.
